The White Truffle Festival is upon us, and fans of the fancy fungi can get their fill at any number of restaurants throughout the nation from November 13 to 22. Now in its fifth year, the festival aims to bring the world-famous Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco di Alba to the U.S., with the support of three of the best culinary products from Italy: Alba white truffles from Urbani Truffles, the leading global purveyor of fresh truffles and truffle products, red wines from Prunotto in Italy’s Piedmont region, and Parmigiano Reggiano from the Emilia Romagna region. During festival week, restaurants in New York, Florida, California, Colorado, Illinois, Washington D.C., Massachusetts, New Jersey, Nevada and Washington state will participate, allowing food and wine enthusiasts to indulge in exquisite, truffle-based dishes from the country’s most esteemed Italian restaurants.
During the festival, restaurants will create special festival menus for dining in and to-go. Menus will feature Urbani fresh white truffles from Alba paired with prestigious Barolo and Barbaresco wines from Prunotto whose vines grow in the same areas where the white truffles are found. The dishes will also feature Parmigiano Reggiano, enhancing the experience with its rich, nutty flavor and aroma. In addition to supporting restaurants, the White Truffle Festival is also expanding into retail this year, offering the public an opportunity to create their own White Truffle experience at home through exclusive recipes developed by a select number of Chefs using ingredients available in-store.
